Golf Cart Body Kits

Which cart are we fitting? Our reps ask that first, because the model decides the whole kit — Club Car DS or Precedent, EZGO TXT or RXV, Yamaha Drive or Drive2. Each kit replaces the factory cowl and body panels (front clip, rear body, sometimes fenders), with matching accessories here.

DoubleTake body kits lead the lineup — Phoenix, Spartan (Club Car DS, 1984 and newer), Titan, and Phantom. Madjax body kits cover Storm (EZGO TXT), Alpha (Club Car Precedent, Onward, Tempo), Havoc (Yamaha Drive), and Apex — plus Club Car's factory body-and-cowl kits for the OEM look.

The years: the Madjax Havoc fits the Yamaha G29 Drive (2007–2016) only, not the Drive2. The DoubleTake Phoenix for Yamaha is Drive2-only. Most EZGO TXT kits fit 1994 and newer (DoubleTake's Factory kit needs a 2014+ TXT). Club Car Precedent kits cover 2004+ — and pre-2008 vs 2008+ cowls have different headlight cutouts, which matters for kits with integrated lighting. RXV kits cover 2008–2023.

Some include street-legal light kits, some don't — check each listing, and match your light kit to your body-kit brand. On DoubleTake kits, color is molded in — choose yours per listing. Installation is a real weekend project — plan on power tools and a helper for the cowl. Not sure? Call 678-331-7404 with your model and year (or serial number) and we'll match your kit.

FAQs for Golf Cart Body Kits

Are body kits specific to my exact model and year?+

Very much so — a DS kit won't fit a Precedent, a TXT kit won't fit an RXV, and a G29 Drive kit won't fit a Drive2. Year matters within a platform too: the Precedent splits at pre-2008 versus 2008-plus (the 2008 cowl added molded headlight cutouts). On the EZGO TXT, most body kits fit 1994-plus, but some (like full factory-style kits) require a 2014-plus chassis — so always confirm the kit's stated year range. Decode your serial number to confirm make, model, and year before you order.

What's actually included in a body kit?+

A full kit typically replaces the front cowl, rear body, fenders, and rocker panels, and can run anywhere from a handful of panels to dozens of individual components depending on the kit. Some kits are single-panel swaps; others are complete front-clip-plus-rear-body transformations, so always check the product listing to confirm exactly what's included in the kit you're buying. Then lay every part out against the vendor's packing list before you start, since a missing bracket found mid-install strands the cart.

Do body kits come painted, or do I have to finish them?+

Both — pre-tinted (color-molded) kits arrive in the manufacturer's color and are ready to install, while paint-ready kits are raw plastic that needs proper prep (an adhesion promoter) plus automotive paint or a vinyl wrap. Budget the paint separately on a paint-ready kit, and dry-fit everything before you paint so you don't discover trimming is needed after the finish is on.

How hard is a body kit to install?+

Harder than most people expect — this is not a peel-and-stick job. A full kit is typically an advanced install of roughly 4 to 8 hours and usually involves removing the existing panels, dry-fitting the new ones, drilling into the cowl or frame, trimming plastic, and re-routing any lighting wiring. The vendor's instruction sheet is the source of truth, and first-timers on a full kit should consider a pro install.

I'm not sure which body kit fits my cart — can you help?+

Yes — the most common and most expensive mistake here is ordering the wrong year, especially the Precedent 2008 split. Give us your make, model, and year (from the serial decode) and we'll point you to a kit that actually bolts up. Call 678-331-7404 and we'll confirm before you buy.
